Kuffner & Keenan Capture ECAC Hockey Player & Rookie of the Week Honors

Princeton junior Ryan Kuffner was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week and Luke Keenan earned ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, the league announced this afternoon.

Kuffner led the nation in scoring this week as playoffs got underway. Kuffner had seven points, scoring three goals and four assists in two games, averaging 3.50 points per game. He was a +5 and had one game-winning goal. He extends his point scoring streak to 12 with 29 points (17G, 12A) in those 12 games. On Friday he had two goals and two assists in an 8-2 win over Brown in the ECAC Hockey first-round series and had the game winner and two assists in a 7-1 game on Saturday. In addition, Kuffner was also named the NCAA Third Star of the Week.

Keenan led the league's freshmen with three points, averaging 1.50 points per game with a goal and two assist. On Friday he had two assists, including the primary assist on the game-winning goal over the Bears. On Saturday he tallied his second goal of the season in a win over Brown. He was +1 and scored on one of his two shots on goal on the Tigers' fourth line.

Princeton faces Union in the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals this weekend in Schenectady, N.Y., in a best-of-three series. Game 1 is Friday, March 9 at 7 p.m., at Messa Rink.
