Leach Runs Steeplechase PR and Gains Ground on Descending Order List

Junior Brighie Leach crushed her personal record in the steeplechase as Day 1 of the ECAC Championships come to an end at Weaver Stadium. Leach placed third with a 10:18.49, improving on her PR by more than 12 seconds. Her time is the fourth best time in Princeton history and places her in 27th on the NCAA East regional descending order list.
The top 48 in each individual event will be eligible for inclusion at the NCAA East Regional with the selections being announced on May 17.
In the 1500, junior Alie Fordyce clocked a PR at 4:25.06 (50.17, 1:10.58, 1:12.71) to take sixth. She improved on her own PR from last week at Ivy Heps when she ran 4:25.83.
Senior Kennedy O'Dell took sixth in the hammer throw at 55.89 (183-4). It came on her opening throw with her three other countable throws all being in the 55-meter range. O'Dell has a PR of 60.01 (196-10) from earlier this season that currently has her 27th on the descending order list.
In the javelin, sophomore Rylie Pease earned fourth place with a 44.51 (146). It came on her final attempt, while she also had marks of 43.98, 41.92 41.98, 40.99 and 38.90. Pease threw a PR at last week's Heps a 45.19 (148-3), which puts her 42nd on the descending order list.
The 10k was postponed until Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. due to lightning.
