Reigning Ivy Champ Heads to Reigning NCAA Champ as 2018-19 Schedule Released

2018-19 Schedule
The 2018 Ivy League champion Princeton women's tennis team will open the 2018-19 season Sept. 14 with the three-day Princeton Invitational, before continuing on to tournaments hosted by Penn, Milwaukee, Northwestern and Florida Gulf Coast, plus the ITA Northeast Regional hosted by Yale.
Soon after the spring season begins, the Tigers will head to California for three matches, including a visit to reigning NCAA champion Stanford, alma mater of head coach Laura Granville, on Jan. 31.
Here are additional notes the schedule:
• Stanford leads seven teams on Princeton's schedule that were in the final ITA top-75 at the end of last season. Princeton was ranked 50th at season's end.
• Yale will host the ITA Northeast Regional Oct. 11-16 as well as the ECAC Championship Feb. 8-10.
• The spring season will open Jan. 26-27 at a North Carolina-hosted tournament. Princeton will start against Michigan State with a match the following day against either UNC, ranked third at the end of last season, or VCU, ranked 67th.
• Princeton will have six spring home matches, three in the non-league schedule against Rutgers (Feb. 20), Rice (Mar. 22) and William & Mary (Mar. 24), and Cornell (Apr. 14), Brown and Yale (Apr. 20-21) in Ivy play.
