Princeton faces Temple for the first time in nearly 70 years on Wednesday when the Tigers play host to the Owls on Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium at 7 p.m. The game was moved across the street from Myslik Field to the fieldturf surface.

This is the first time Princeton has played a varsity game on Sherrerd Field, a surface installed in 2012, and is home to Princeton lacrosse. The Tigers are 1-3 on the season but have dominated their opponents the last two games. Overall the Tigers average 13.3 shots per game while limiting teams to just seven. The difference has been a single goal in all three losses. Senior Sean McSherry leads the team with three points on a goal and two assists, while junior Danny Hampton and sophomore Gaby Paniagua have the other two strikes. The trio are also the leaders in shots on the squad, along with freshman Moulay Hamza Kanzi Belghiti. In goal, junior Jacob Schachner has a 1.00 goals against average and a .600 save percentage.

These two teams, located 45 miles apart, have faced each other just one time in 1951. Head coach of the Tigers at that time was Jimmy Reed - he was head coach from 1938-66. Temple won that game by a 5-0 decision.

Temple is 2-3 on the season and have played all but one game on the road. All five games have been 1-0 decisions with the last two being decided in extra time. Zach Brown and Jalen Campbell have both scored and both have been the game-winning goals. Andres Barrera, Belal Mohamed, Pierre Cayet and Leandros Lillis have one assist each. Simon Lefebvre has started in goal in four games and has a 0.80 GAA and a .700 save percentage. Michael Samnik earned the shutout victory against ODU on Sept. 2.
