Rodriguez Makes Flight Finals in Alabama, Tigers Have Winning Day at Penn
September 15, 2018 | Men's Tennis
In the Alabama event, Damian Rodriguez won his way into his flight's final with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 win over Tennessee's Preston Touliatos and will face Tulane's Tim Ruetzel in the flight final Sunday at 9 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET.
"We had another solid day at the courts," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "I'm pleased with the guys' efforts. We are competing hard and making adjustments. It was another brutal day with high temps, but we managed it well. Though we didn't win one of the doubles finals, they were quality matches where we had chances. We'll look to have a strong final day tomorrow with four more singles matches."
At Penn, Princeton players took nine of 13 singles matches and split four doubles matches. Rookies Bill Duo and Will Peters swept their day, each winning twice in singles and once in doubles.
Princeton's players will face those from William & Mary Sunday at 9 a.m. in singles and doubles to close the Penn event.
