CHICAGO (9/29/18) - Freshman Gillian Wagner led the Princeton Tigers to victory at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational on Saturday afternoon on Montrose Beach.
Princeton posted a score of 65 to take the meet that featured 32 other squads, including Illinois, Nebraska and Ohio State out the Big 10 and Missouri and Texas A&M out of the SEC. Five-time DII national champions Grand Valley State took second place with 79 points.
Wagner clocked 17:00.17 to finish fourth overall with sophomore Melia Chittenden taking 11th place overall at 17:16.87. Senior Madison Offstein and sophomore Sierra Castaneda came in 33 and 39 as the pushers.
"Today was a strong team performance against teams from the Big Ten, SEC, and PAC 12," head coach Brad Hunt said. "The challenge of an urban course and adventure of navigating the city of Chicago made for a great weekend in and of the competitive arena. We are improving as a pack and we remain focused on the opportunities ahead."
