Princeton finished fourth at the Penn State National Open putting on a tremendous performance against seven other squads that appear in the national poll.

No. 19 ranked Penn State won the race, followed by No. 14 Michigan State and No. 26 Georgia Tech. Dartmouth, which had the lead at the split took fifth.
"We had a very strong showing against top competition from across the country on the host course of the 2018 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships," head coach Brad Hunt said. "The team raced well together, with a tight :24 spread from 1-5. Our depth and talent continue to indicate how much we have evolved as a team since last fall. We remain focused on the weeks ahead and racing at home for the Ivy League Championships."
Sophomore Melia Chittenden lead the Tigers with a 17th place finish and a time of 21:02. Senior Madison Offstein was the second in Orange & Black across the line at 21:18 for 38th. Both seniors Alie Fordyce and Allie Klimkiewicz posted a 21:21 and went 41-42. Freshman Page Lester was the final scorer at 21:26 - as all five scorers finished in the top 50 in a race of 289 competitors. Senior Brighie Leach and sophomore Sophie Cantine took the 6-7 spots on the squad at 21:32 and 21:39, respectively.
The Tigers will be back on this same course again in just a few weeks, Nov. 9, for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional.
