Women's Cross Country Wins Second-Consecutive Ivy League Championship
October 31, 2025 | Women's Cross Country
BRONX, N.Y. – With Anna McNatt claiming individual victory and three Tigers finishing in the top five, the Princeton women's cross country team won its second-consecutive Ivy League Championship on Friday in Van Cortlandt Park.
Boasting a 1-2-5-8-11 finish, the Tigers earned a team score of 27 - besting second-place Yale by 55 points. It marks the largest margin of victory at Heps since 2012.
The team score ties the ninth-best Heps score all-time, and just the fourth time Princeton has combined for under 30 points.
"The championship experience we gained over the last calendar year was on full display today at Van Cortlandt Park. We continue to celebrate individual progress from season to season as we chase new team goals - simply put, the ladies were dynamite today - individually and collectively," said Head Coach Brad Hunt. "The orange and black at the front of the pack made for a special Halloween in New York City. We are eternally grateful for the continued support from John Mack and the administration as well as our friends and family. Princeton University is a special place and today was a great day to be a Tiger! We look to build upon the momentum at the NCAA Regional Championships in two weeks with a mission to represent the Ivy League on the national stage as a program."
McNatt and Meg Madison took the two top spots on the podium in an outstanding one-two finish. It is the first time two teammates have achieved that feat since 2012.
McNatt, clearing the finish line first by seven seconds, clocked in at 20:35.0. Her time set a new Ivy Heps course record for Van Cortlandt Park. The last record was held by Harvard's Maia Ramsden who ran 20:42.4 in 2022. Last year, McNatt took third on the podium en route to Princeton's title, and this year she returned to claim the individual championship for herself too.
Madison was next across the finish line, clocking in at 20:42.7. Madison, improving six places from last year, earned herself her first First Team All-Ivy distinction as she and McNatt were two of just three women total to finish the 6k in under 21 minutes.
Madison and McNatt both ran under the previous Princeton Heps course record, besting Olympian Elizabeth Bird's time of 20:47.4 from 2015.
First-year Caroline Barton was the third Tiger across the line, making her Heps debut as she finished in fifth position with a time of 21:12.5.
All three women earned First Team All-Ivy honors.
The fourth Tiger to score was Emma De Jong, scoring in her second-consecutive Heps as she helped Princeton to the title last year. Finishing in the top-10 while improving 12 places from last year, she took eighth place with a time of 21:29.0 to earn Second Team All-Ivy honors.
The final Tiger scorer was senior Maddie Cramer, who took 11th place after kicking out a whopping 13 runners between 3.1k and 5.1k as the Tigers battled it out in the Van Cortlandt woods. She was the only woman in the top-15 to make such a jump, and clocked in at 21:40.6 while besting her Heps placement last year by 20 places.
Olivia Martin and Abigail Errington served as the Tiger pushers, with Martin making a four-runner jump in the final 900m to take 15th with a time of 21:48.7. First-year Errington took 20th place with a time of 21:54.8.
On a blustery Halloween day in the Bronx, the defending 2024 Ivy League Champions took care of business - leaving Van Cortlandt with the program's 11th title all-time.
