Princeton Puts Ivy-Best Seven Wrestlers In First Set Of NCAA Coaches Ranks

The first set of NCAA Coaches Wrestling Rankings came out this week, and #21 Princeton shared the top spot in the Ivy League by having seven starters listed at their respective weight classes, including two in the top three. Both Princeton and Cornell had seven starters ranked in the Top 33 of their respective weights, while no other Ivy League program had more than three.

Princeton is also one of five teams in the NCAA to have one wrestler ranked at the top of their weight class (Matthew Kolodzik, 149) and another inside the top three (197, Patrick Brucki). Those other four programs are #1 Penn State, #2 Ohio State, #6 Michigan and Northwestern.

Princeton's current place at #21 in the latest NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll represents the highest spot the Tigers have ever held in that poll. The Tigers are currently 10th in the InterMat tournament rankings.
