No. 19 Princeton Advances To NWPC Championship Game With 16-10 Win Over Brown

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 19 Princeton Tigers easily disposed of the No. 19 Brown Bears, 16-10, in the Northeast Water Polo Conference Semifinal on Saturday evening.

With the win, the Tigers will play No. 9 Harvard tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the NWPC Championship Game. It's the second straight year that the Tigers and Crimson have faced off in the championship match. Harvard is 28-0 this season with its last loss coming in the 2018 NWPC title meeting vs. Princeton. The Tigers are 16-14 overall this season.
The first quarter was a back and forth affair as neither team led by more than a tally as the score was tied 3-all after eight minutes. Head coach Dustin Litvak's group posted the first three goals of the second stanza and took a 6-4 lead into the intermission.
Princeton pulled away in the third frame as it ran off six of the first seven goal, jumping ahead by seven, 12-5. The Tigers went into the fourth quarter up six, 13-7, and wasn't threatened the rest of the way.
The Tigers look for their sixth conference title in program history with a victory over No. 9 Harvard. Princeton has never won back-to-back conference crowns.
