BACK TO BAKER RINK
Since the last time the Tigers skated in a game on Hobey Baker Rink, Princeton has accumulated almost 7,000 miles of travel between visits to Upstate New York and Belfast. The unofficial mileage on Princeton's road trips to Colgate, Cornell and the Friendship Four is 6,969 miles via bus and plane. Now. Princeton begins a four-game homestand with a pair of games against Colorado College.
IT'S BEEN A WHILE...
Princeton and Colorado College have not played since 1990, when CC swept a series in Colorado Springs. Overall, Colorado College has won 8 of the 9 meetings between the teams -- Princeton's lone win a 3-2 victory at Baker Rink in 1989.
CRESS-MAN
Senior Jackson Cressey leads Princeton with 8 points in 10 games. He is tied for the team lead with 5 assists, and is the only Tiger to have scored on both the power play and penalty kill this season. He has gone without a point in each of his last three games. With 102 career points, senior Jackson Cressey is 16th on the Tigers' all-time list and has five players within five points ahead of him on that list. He's tied for eighth on the career assist list with 73 and has four players within eight assists ahead of him.
GRANDE PLANS
Liam Grande had gone five games played without a point before registering assists in both games played last weekend in Belfast.
BACK FROM BELFAST
The Tigers are back on home ice after spending a week in Belfast for the Friendship Four. After a few days of sightseeing -- including a stop at the set of Game of Thrones, a visit to Royal Portrush Golf Course and time spent at local schools engaging with children -- the Tigers took the ice against Colgate and New Hampshire. After a 3-1 loss to the Raiders in the semifinal, Princeton was knocked off by New Hampshire, 3-2, in the Third Place Game after the Wildcats scored twice in a span of 1:07 in the third period.
ABOUT THE TIGERS (THE OTHER ONES...)
Colorado College is in the middle of a seven-game road swing, coming off a pair of losses at Minnesota Duluth Nov. 22-23. CC has been off since the two losses to the defending national champions. Last season, Colorado College was 17-20-4 overall and 9-12-3 in NCHC play. 17 wins last season for Colorado College were the most by a CC team since 2012-13. Head coach Mike Haviland is in his sixth season behind the bench with CC, previously serving as head coach of the Hershey Bears before coming to Colorado Springs. He was also an assistant coach with the Chicago Blackhawks from 2008-12, serving on staff during Chicago's Stanley Cup run in 2009-10.
Florida Panthers draft pick Chris Wilkie leads CC with 5-6-11 over 10 games. Fellow senior Nick Halloran also has five goals and ranks second on the team with 10 points. Defenseman Bryan Yoon has a team-high seven assists. Freshman Matt Vernon has started six games in goal and is 3-2-1 with a 3.23 GAA and .907 save%.
