Blanchard Earns Second Ivy Weekly Honor

For the second time in less than a month, Princeton freshman Ali Blanchard has been named an Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
This time, which follows her March 18 honor, Blanchard was recognized for throwing a nine-inning, complete-game shutout to help Princeton beat Penn 1-0 Saturday.Â
Blanchard struck out seven and allowed three hits and four walks in what was her second consecutive shutout, following a seven-inning shutout against Brown two weekends ago.
Nationally, Blanchard is ranked 35th in strikeouts per seven innings at 8.6 and 73rd in hits allowed per seven at 5.22. She and the Tigers will host Lehigh Wednesday in a break from Ivy League action before returning to league play Saturday and Sunday at '95 against Harvard.
