Open Rowing Secures 7th Overall At NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The women's open rowing team finished seventh overall in the team standings as the NCAA Rowing Championships wrapped up today.
The Tigers registered 94 points, nine points out sixth and 11 points out of fifth place. They surpassed their rank from last season and secured the program's 21st top-ten finish ever.
Princeton's V8 team won the Petite Final (6:11.53) in impressive fashion by almost three seconds over Yale. At the 1,000m mark, the Tigers sat fifth, almost seven seconds behind the Bulldogs, but rallied to earn the seventh position overall among the V8 boats in the field. It's the fourth straight top-10 finish for the V8 unit.
2V nabbed the second spot (6:19.84) in its Petite Final, just behind California (6:18.98). The Tigers led throughout the race, but Calif., caught them over the final 500m. Princeton placed eighth overall, its best spot since 2016.
V4 picked up the victory in its Petite Final (7:03.63), dropping Brown (7:06.08). With the victory, Princeton nabbed seventh overall, passing its spot from last year (ninth).
The Class of 2019 finishes its time at Princeton with four NCAA Top-10 finishes and four Ivy League Championships.
