Incoming Frosh Frayman Competes in U.S. Open Juniors Draw

Daria Frayman, part of the nation's No. 3-ranked recruiting class according to TennisRecruiting.net, advanced through two rounds in the U.S. Open juniors draw in New York before finishing her run in Thursday's round of 16.
Frayman, from Russia, upset the 64-player draw's 11th seed, Thailand's Mananchaya Sawangkaew, rallying from a first-set loss to win 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 in Sunday's first round. She followed that up with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Canada's Melodie Collard in Tuesday's second round to set up a round-of-16 match against China's fifth-seeded Qinwen Zheng, which Zheng took 6-4, 6-0 Thursday.
Tuesday, Frayman opened junior doubles play alongside fellow Russian Maria Timofeeva, falling to Japan's Natsumi Kawaguchi and Hungary's Adrienn Nagy 6-4, 6-4 in the round of 32.
