September 05, 2019 | Women's Basketball
MONTREAL – Bella Alarie will be competing with USA Basketball in the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series stop in Montreal (Sept. 6-7).
Â
Alarie's teammates include Aleah Goodman, Michaela Onyenwere and Christyn Williams. Other teams in the tournament include Canada, Romania, Poland, Netherlands, Japan, Switzerland and Mexico.
Â
Earlier this summer, the two-time Ivy Player of the Year helped the United States earn a silver medal at the Pan American Games. She also helped her team make the semifinals at the 3x3 stop in Italy, the quarterfinals in China and the semifinals at the national event in Las Vegas.
Â
The two-time Ivy Player of the Year was named a Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) Honorable Mention All-American in 2018-19. She is just the third Tiger to ever reach that milestone, but the first to do so after her junior campaign. The Bethesda, Md., native broke the team's single-season record for points per game (22.8) while her 210 field goals, 525 points, 65 blocks were the second most, her 408 field goal attempts were fourth highest and 10.6 rebounds were sixth. She became the first player since Ellen DeVoe in 1984-85 to average a double-double for an entire campaign.
