No. 23 Women's Basketball Drops Yale on Senior Day; Wins Outright Ivy Title
March 07, 2026 | Women's Basketball
With the Tigers' victory and Harvard's win over Columbia, Princeton won the Ivy title OUTRIGHT for the first time since 2021-22 and for the seventh time overall in the last eight years. That also clinched the No. 1 seed in the Ivy Tournament where the Tigers will take on No. 4 seed Brown next Friday (Mar. 13) at 4:30 p.m.
Yale started off quickly with the first seven points and 14 of the first 16. Trailing by 14, the Tigers cut the deficit in half to end the first frame with a 11-4 sprint to trail, 22-15, after 10 minutes.
After a Taylor Charles block on one end, Ashley Chea sank a bucket to put the Tigers in front, 30-28, with 3:46 to go in the first half. The Tigers ripped off 12 of the last 16 points in the second frame to go up, 40-32, at the break. During that time, Princeton shot 11-of-15 (73.3 percent).
Yale remained within striking distance, closing the gap to four, 42-38, halfway through the third quarter, but the seniors Madison St. Rose and Charles ended the stanza with their own 6-0 run to make it a 52-42 contest.

Prior to the game, the Tigers honored their Class of 2026 in Charles, who blocked three shots and grabbed four rebounds today, and St. Rose. That duo has won 94 games, has gone 49-7 in Ivy play and has won three Ivy League crowns.
Princeton improves to 24-3 overall and 12-2 in the Ivy League while Yale fell to 7-20 this season and 3-11 in conference action.
