Princeton Easily Disposes Austin College, Falls To No. 2 Stanford

ANNAPOLIS – The No. 12 Princeton Tigers picked up another split during day two of the Navy Invite on Sunday morning.
The Tigers opened the day with an 18-5 victory over Austin College, but dropped the second contest, 22-8, to No. 2 Stanford. Head coach Dustin Litvak's team finished the Navy Invite at 2-2 overall and will host the Princeton Invite next weekend.

The Tigers ran off the first three goals and five of the first six tallies before taking a 6-2 advantage into the second quarter. In front by five in the second fame, Princeton collected four consecutive goals to end the half, holding a 12-3 lead at the break. Princeton was never threatened the rest of the way.

This time, it was Stanford who jumped to an early lead, recording the first tallies and five of the first six. Princeton trailed by four, 8-4, but Stanford snagged three more goals to take an 11-4 advantage after 16 minutes. The Tigers could not get any traction in the third quarter, trailing by eight, 14-6, as the fourth stanza got underway. Princeton added two goals over the final eight minutes, falling 22-8 decision.
