No. 13 Men’s Volleyball Set For Three Matches in California

PRINCETON, N.J. – After 17 days without a match, the Princeton University men's volleyball team is set to play three matches in the state of California.
The Tigers will first take on the (RV) University of California, San Diego on Tuesday, January 28 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT in La Jolla, California, followed by the No. 6 University of California, Los Angeles on Thursday, January 30 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. Princeton will wrap up its trip against California State University, Northridge on Saturday, February 1.
Tiger Notes
While Princeton is 2-3 on the season, the Tigers are 2-0 in Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) play after sweeping the University of Charleston on Friday, January 10 and Saturday, January 11.
Senior George Huhmann, who was honored as EIVA Player of the Week on Monday, January 6, is leading the Tigers in kills with 61 and service aces with 10. Sophomore Joe Kelly leads the Tigers in assists with 151 and digs with 32 while senior Greg Luck has a team-high 25 digs.
Scouting (RV) UC-San Diego
The Tritons have a 6-2 record on the season, most recently McKendree University 3-2 on Saturday, January 25 in St. Charles, Missouri.
Kyle McCauley leads UC-San Diego in kills with 112 while Connor Walbrecht leads the team in assists and digs with 303 and 62. Shane Benetz has a team-high 34 blocks and Wyatt Harrison leads the Tritons in service aces with 14.
Scouting No. 6 UCLA
The Bruins are 4-2 overall and defeated the Ohio State University 3-1 in their most recent match on Sunday, January 26.
The Bruins and Tigers are no strangers, having met on Monday, January 6 inside Dillon Gymnasium in a back-and-forth battle that went down to the wire but saw UCLA come out on top, 3-2.
Daenan Gymiah leads the team in kills with 311 and blocks with 81. Micah Ma'a has a team-high 851 assists, 203 digs and 67 service aces.
Scouting C-SUN
The Matadors have a 2-5 record and most recently overcame California University Lutheran on Saturday, January 25 in Northridge, California.
Kyle Hobus leads the team in kills with 94 and Taylor Ittner has a team-high 290 digs and 51 assists. Daniel Wetter leads the Matador in blocks with 23 while Maciej Ptaszynski has a team-high 14 service aces.
