Tigers Open Weekend Series With Shutout of Saint Anselm
January 03, 2020 | Women's Ice Hockey
The teams will get together again Saturday at 3 p.m. at Baker.
Senior Claire Thompson had helpers on three of the five goals. That started with the first goal of the afternoon, when Thompson retrieved the puck near the Tigers' attacking blue line and found sophomore Fillier for a charge up the middle and a puck in the net for a 1-0 lead just past the midpoint of the first period.

Princeton took the 2-0 lead into the first intermission and added to it with less than three minutes to go in the second period. Senior Sylvie Wallin fired the puck from near the faceoff circle inside the Tigers' defensive zone to junior Sharon Frankel at the other blue line. Frankel converted on the breakway, and the Tigers were up three.

Just more than three minutes later, Thompson picked off a pass in Princeton's defensive zone and skated it past center ice, leaving it for Connors to head into the attacking zone. Kee was in the middle of a trio of Tigers, including Thompson and Fillier, who charged toward the net with Kee receiving the Connors pass to send it in for the final goal of the day. The three-assist game was the second of Thompson's career and first since getting three against Dartmouth on Jan. 6, 2017.
