EVANSTON, Ill. – Taking on the Big Ten's Northwestern University Saturday inside the Combe Tennis Center, the No. 17 Princeton University women's tennis team downed the Wildcats 5-2 for its third win over a power five opponent this season.
Doubles
While the Tigers fell at the No. 2 position, they still won the doubles point as No. 19 Grace Joyce and Daria Frayman overcame Julie Byrne and Clarissa Hand 6-4 at No. 1 then Brianna Shvets and Nathalie Rodilosso triumphed 6-3 over Inci Ogut and Christina Hand at No. 3.
Singles
Princeton bounced back from losses at the No. 6 and No. 1 positions as Clare McKee topped Pozo 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5. then No. 66 Frayman would defeat Ogut at No. 2, 6-3, 6-3. At No. 5 Zoe Howard earned a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Hand to clinch the match for Princeton then at No. 4 Schrage outlasted Brianna Crowley 6-7, 6-1, 6-3.
