Women’s Tennis Checks in at No. 9 in Oracle/ITA Team Rankings

GILBERT, Ariz. – The Princeton University women's tennis team continued to make history Thursday morning, checking in at No. 9 in the latest Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Team Rankings. The ranking is the Tigers' highest ever in program history, according to our resources.
Princeton moved up eight spots from its previous highest ever ranking of No. 17, announced on Thursday, January 29.
The Tigers also earned the No. 9 ranking in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) top-25, earning 189 points.
Along with its team ranking, the Tigers also have three ranked individuals and one ranked doubles team. In the ITA singles rankings Brianna Shvets sits at No. 34, Zoe Howard at No. 71 and Daria Frayman at No. 98. In doubles, Grace Joyce and Frayman are ranked No. 47.
Princeton is 5-1 on the season, and in its most recent match defeated No. 6 Pepperdine University on Sunday, February 9 at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Chicago, Illinois. The match also featured a 6-4, 6-4 win by No. 34 Shvets over No. 1 Ashley Lahey of Pepperdine.
The Tigers' win over Pepperdine was its third win over a ranked opponent this season; on Sunday, January 26 they outlasted the No. 11 University of Southern California 4-2 and on Saturday, January 25 they triumphed 4-3 over the No. 16 University of Washington.

The Tigers will host Towson University (1-5) at 11 a.m. and Fairleigh Dickinson University (2-2) at 3 p.m. inside Jadwin Gymnasium on Saturday, February 15.
