The Series With Temple
Princeton owns a 23-9 record all-time against Temple dating back to 1980. The Tigers have won the last four meetings – including a 16-7 win at home last season – and have won 15 of the last 16 meetings dating back to 1999.
Last year, Princeton jumped out to a 10-2 lead at halftime en route to the 16-7 victory. Tess D'Orsi had six goals, whole Kathryn Hallet added four. Elizabeth George had four points and six draw controls. Sam Fish had 11 saves in goal.
Sailer In Season Openers
Head coach Chris Sailer is 28-5 in season openers since starting as head coach in 1987. Sailer has won her last five season openers since a 15-10 loss at Loyola in 2014 – a season which ended with an Ivy League championship.
Back For More
Princeton opens 2020 looking to pick up where it left off last season. All the Tigers did in 2019 was win the Ivy League regular season championship for the sixth consecutive season and follow that up with its third straight Ivy League Tournament title. The Tigers would go on to reach the NCAA Quarterfinals for the third time in the last five seasons.
Watch Them
Three Tigers were named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List ahead of the 2020 season. Tess D'Orsi, Sam Fish and Kyla Sears are among the 50 players under consideration for national player of the year, all three on the Watch List for the second year in a row.
Preseason Pick
Princeton was chosen No. 1 in the Ivy League Preseason Media Poll for the fourth year in a row. The Tigers gathered 13 of the 16 first-place votes, finishing clear of Penn which was selected No. 2.
All-American Aspirations
Three Tigers were chosen Preseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse. Defender Marge Donovan was selected as a second-team All-American by ILWomen heading into the season, joined by third-team honorees Kyla Sears and Sam Fish.
Climbing The Ranks
A talented group on the field and deep postseason runs each season have multiple Tigers in range of making serious moves up the Princeton Record Book:
Tess D'Orsi
No. 6 all-time in goals (144); 17 away from tying for No. 5
No. 10 all-time in points (187); 13 away from tying for No. 9
