Sophomore Fillier Becomes Two-Time AHCA All-America
March 24, 2020 | Women's Ice Hockey
Sophomore Sarah Fillier has put herself on track to set some Princeton career records, and well before that, she has already made some program history.
For the second consecutive time in as many years with the program, Fillier has been named All-America by the American Hockey Coaches Association, earning second-team honors as she did in 2019.
Fillier's honor is the fourth in program history. Sasha Sherry '11 was a second-teamer in 2009 and Kelsey Koelser '17 was a first-teamer in 2016.
While helping Princeton to a program-record 26 wins, an NCAA tournament bid for the second straight year, and the program's first ECAC tournament title while earning tournament Most Outstanding Player honors, Fillier stood as a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award, earned first-team All-ECAC and first-team All-Ivy honors, and she was one of three finalists for ECAC Best Forward and ECAC Player of the Year recognition. She finished second in the nation in points per game (1.84), ninth in goals per game (0.71), and third in assists per game (1.13).Â
