Glory, Brucki Clinch NCAA Bids as Tigers Advance Six to Saturday at EIWA Championships
March 06, 2020 | Wrestling
Patrick Glory and Patrick Brucki ensured on Friday their trips to the NCAA Championships by advancing to the semifinals at the EIWA Championships, and more Tigers will look to join them Saturday.
Glory at 125 and Brucki at 197 each won twice to advance to the semis, and with the EIWA getting seven and six automatic bids at their weights, respectively, that meant a semifinal berth was enough to ensure a bid.
Matthew Kolodzik at 149 and Quincy Monday at 157 also advanced to their weights' semis, but with the EIWA receiving four and three bids at those weights, Kolodzik and Monday will need one more win to ensure a trip to Minneapolis.
Grant Cuomo at 165 and Travis Stefanik at 184 fell out of the main draw Friday but kept their pursuits alive with consolation wins and will wrestle again Saturday.
Event host Lehigh leads the team standings with 87.5 points. Army West Point (73.5), Cornell (68.5), Navy (61.5) and Princeton (56) round out the top five in the 17-team standings.
Saturday's competition is set to begin at 10 a.m. with final bouts beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Below are Princeton's results for Friday and the next match for each of the wrestlers still going. Full results can be found here.
