Third-place finisher at the NCAA Championships, going 5-1 at the meet with the fifth seed and becoming the fourth wrestler in program history with two top-three NCAA finishes ... won his first three matches at NCAAs before a 6-5 loss to top-seeded David Carr of Iowa State in the semis, bouncing back with a 9-7 win over third-seeded Dean Hamiti of Wisconsin, 9-7, in the consolation semis and 3-2 over 11th-seeded Cameron Amine of Michigan to finish third ... finished runner-up at the EIWA Championships ... second-team All-Ivy League, going 4-1 in league duals ... NWCA Scholar All-American ... entered the NCAAs with a 22-2 record ... began the season wrestling at 157 pounds before making his collegiate competitive debut at 165 with the Midlands Championships, winning that event and defeating three top-20 InterMat-ranked wrestlers over the final three rounds ... only two losses through the regular season and EIWA Championships were to Cornell's Julian Ramirez, in the teams' dual match and the EIWA final ... runner-up EIWA placement was his fourth EIWA top-three finish ... finished with a 27-3 record on the season, going 3-0 at 157 before moving up to 165.

All-American, reaching the NCAA finals and, along with Patrick Glory, giving Princeton two NCAA finalists in the same year for the first time in program history ... first-team All-Ivy ... NWCA Scholar All-American ... seeded fifth at the NCAAs and defeated 28th-seeded Connor Brady of Virginia Tech 3-2, 12th-seeded Jacob Wright of Wyoming 3-2, fourth-seeded Ed Scott of N.C. State 5-3, and eighth-seeded Will Lewan of Michigan 3-2 to reach the final, where Northwestern's second-seeded Ryan Deakin won 9-2 ... holding the second seed, won his first EIWA title, defeating Navy's fourth-seeded Andrew Ceriniglia 9-4 in the final ... finished 24-4 on the season, opening with a title at the Southeast Open, defeating Virginia Tech's Brady 7-3 in the final, followed by a 9-5 win over Iowa's Kaleb Young in a dual, and then a trip to the final at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, where Deakin defeated Monday in the final, 8-3 ... after losing to Deakin, N.C. State's then-No. 11 Scott 6-4 in a dual, and Arizona State's then-No. 3 Jacori Teemer 4-3 in a dual, won 12 straight matches through the EIWA final.

Headlee in a dual ... swept through three Ivy matches, including a win over Cornell's Adam Santoro ... beat Rutgers' Mike VanBrill in the season's final dual ... made the EIWA final before a loss to Humphreys ... had a 23-4 record on the season.

2018-19
One of only nine freshmen in program history — and three from the season — to qualify for the NCAA Championships; lost final match 13-12 in tiebreaker 1 … placed third at EIWA Championships, with lone loss coming to eventual champion Josh Humphreys of Lehigh … earned first-team All-Ivy League honors after being only Princeton wrestler to go 5-0 in the Ivy League … won first three matches at Midlands and helped Princeton place a program-best fifth overall … won the F&M Open … had a 14-2 stretch after Midlands, which included victory over Oklahoma State and unbeaten run against Ivies ... had a 24-13 record on the season.

Before Princeton: Ranked #40 by FloWrestling and #57 by InterMat among overall national recruits … four-time state champion, winning two 6A titles at Martin (Arlington, Texas) at 106 and 113 before moving to North Carolina and winning two 2A titles at Carrboro (132, 152) … Super 32 runner-up … placed third at Iron Man … posted a 158-9 career record in high school … team captain … National Society for High School Scholars honoree.

Personal: Son of Sabrina and Kenny Monday; father was a gold medalist at the 1988 Olympics and was named head coach of the revived Morgan State wrestling program in 2022 … has two older siblings, Sydnee and Kennedy ... Kennedy, in the Class of 2021 at North Carolina reached the Round of 12 at the 2018 NCAA Championships for the Tar Heels and returned to the NCAAs in 2021 … enjoys being with his dog … anthropology major.
