Frayman of Women’s Tennis Honored as ITA Regional Rookie of the Year

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its postseason awards Monday morning and freshman Daria Frayman of the Princeton University women's tennis team was honored as the Northeast Region Rookie of the Year.

Frayman had a stellar freshman campaign for the Tigers, earning rankings as high as No. 19 in doubles and No. 103 in singles.

She had a 14-4 doubles record after going 8-1 in the fall and 6-3 in the spring and earned two doubles victories over ranked opponents, including a win over No. 3 Jessica Martinelli and Jessie Gong of Yale University with Grace Joyce in February and an 8-6 victory over the University of Virginia's No. 52 Chloe Gullickson and Vivian Glozman last September.

In singles, Frayman went 14-4 with a 12-2 record in the fall and a 5-2 record in the spring. At the ITA All-American Championships, she defeated No. 80 Daevenia Achong of Miami 6-3, 6-3.
