Men's Soccer Stays Atop Ivy Table With 3-0 Win Over Columbia

Princeton improved to 3-0-0 in the Ivy League, staying atop the Ivy standings with nine points following a 3-0 win over Columbia at Sherrerd Field.
Kevin O'Toole had two goals, Michael Osei-Wusu added the third as the Tigers reached 3-0-0 in Ivy play for the first time since 2010.
Princeton took an early lead, O'Toole finishing a well-connected passing sequence with Ryan Clare in the 16th minute.That goal held up throughout the middle stages of the match, Princeton holding serve on defense despite a push from the Lions out of the halftime break.
Finally settled midway through the second stanza, O'Toole added his second of the match in the 68th minute, again working up the field nicely with a teammate -- this time the assist coming from Michael Osei-Wusu who threaded a pass to O'Toole who slipped an offering inside the far right post.
With wind and rain swirling, Princeton pounced for another insurance marker in the 77th minute. Michael Osei-Wusu jumped on a loose ball following a James Wangsness shot and he jammed it home for his first career goal to seal the win for the Tigers.
The Tigers held a 14-2 edge in shots, also owning a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal. Jack Roberts was ready for the lone Columbia shot on target to pick up his fourth shutout of the season.
Princeton ventures out of Ivy League play on Tuesday, heading to Lehigh at 7:30 p.m. Up next inside the Ancient Eight is a trip to Harvard on October 23. Kickoff with the Crimson is set for 4 p.m.
