O'Toole Earns National & Ivy Weekly Awards
October 25, 2021 | Men's Soccer
Senior Kevin O'Toole left no doubt as to who was the Ivy League's top player this past week, factoring in on five of Princeton's six goals as the Tigers picked up a pair of wins. His nine points over two wins earned him Ivy League Player of the Week honors for the second time in his career.
In addition, he was named United Soccer Coaches and TopDrawersSoccer.com's National Player of the Week.
After adding an insurance tally in Princeton's 2-0 win at Lehigh on Tuesday, O'Toole dialed up a career day as the Tigers stormed back on Harvard in a 4-1 win in Cambridge.
First, O'Toole served up a perfect corner kick which found the head of Lucas Gen and then the back of the net to bring the Tigers level with the Crimson at 1-1 just over 90 seconds after Harvard had taken the lead.
From there, O'Toole put together a hat trick in a span of 7:23 to salt away Princeton's fourth consecutive win and move the Tigers to 4-0-0 inside the Ivy League which gives Princeton sole ownership of first place.
O'Toole had scored seven goals and added two assists over Princeton's last four games -- each a Tiger victory. For his career, he now has 15 goals and 15 assists for 45 points.
The Tigers return to Sherrerd Field on October 26, hosting Fordham at 8 p.m. Up next in the Ivy League is a meeting with Cornell on October 30 at 4 p.m.
