PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's volleyball team's five-match road swing continues on Friday, November 5, at Brown and on Saturday, November 6, at Yale.
The weekend will see the top-three teams in the Ivy League battle it out; Brown sits atop the conference standings thanks to their 9-1 record in Ivy play, while the Tigers and Bulldogs are second, each with a 7-3 record in conference matches
When the Tigers and Bears last met on Saturday, October 16, Brown earned a 3-1 (26-24, 25-22, 25-23, 25-22) victory. Princeton also overcame the Bulldogs 3-1 (23-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-22) in the most recent matchup between the two teams on Friday, October 15. In Princeton's most recent match, the Tigers suffered a 3-2 (26-24, 25-14, 14-25, 14-25, 16-14) setback at Dartmouth on Saturday, October 30.
With an average of 11.42 assists per set, junior Lindsey Kelly is ranked third in the nation and leads the Ivy League. Senior Julia Schner also leads the conference in blocks per set, averaging 1.26. Other statistical leaders for the Tigers include junior Elena Montgomery in kills per set (3.85), Kelly in service aces (18), along with junior Cameron Dames in digs per set (4.55).
Brown
In their most recent match, the Bears defeated Cornell 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-15) on Saturday, October 30.
Brown is led in kills per set by Sophia Miller (3.37), assists per set by Cierra Jenkins (10.25), service aces per set by Kayla Griebl (0.33), Victoria Vo in digs per set (4.72), and Zoe Umamau in blocks per set (1.11)
Yale
The Bulldogs are coming of a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-20) victory over Columbia on Saturday, October 30. Prior to its matchup with Princeton, Yale will host Pennsylvania on Friday, November 5, at 7 p.m.
Bonnie Bostic leads Yale in kills per set (2.89), Carly Diehl in assists per set (9.31), Cara Shultz in service aces per set (0.39), Malie Somera in digs per set (4.52), and Fatima Samb in blocks per set (0.90).
