Senior Grace Barbara, junior Madison Curry and seniors Lucy Rickerson and Tatum Gee all earned United Soccer Coaches All-East Region recognition, the organization has announced.
The four honorees are the most in the Ivy League this season and the total brings Princeton's count of all-region honorees to 14 in six competitive seasons under head coach Sean Driscoll. The honors are the first for Barbara, Curry and Gee and the third for Rickerson, who was a second-team honoree in 2018 and a third-teamer in 2019.Â
Barbara, a first-team honoree, had an 11-3-1 overall record in helping the team to the second round of the NCAA tournament, turning in seven solo shutouts on the way to an 0.90 GAA. The honor, alongside her first-team All-Ivy recognition, comes in Barbara's first season as the team's primary goalkeeper, the Ivy honor is Barbara's first.
Curry, also a first-team honoree, played in 18 games and starting 16, Curry helped Princeton's back line turn in 10 shutouts among those 18 games. She also contributed a goal in Princeton's 4-3 win on Sept. 9 at No. 9 Rutgers and added assists in the 4-0 win over Yale on Sept. 25 and on the only goal at Penn on Nov. 6. Curry was also a first-team All-Ivy honoree.
Rickerson, a second-team honoree, earned first-team All-Ivy recognition to complete a four-year sweep in being included among the All-Ivy honorees. Rickerson played in 18 games with 16 starts and helped the team post 10 shutouts.Â
Gee, a third-team honoree, moved to forward this season, scoring eight goals to share the team lead and added five assists to stand at 21 points, good for second on the team. Gee had two-goal games at George Mason on Sept. 2, at Dartmouth on Oct. 2, and against Vermont on Nov. 12 in the NCAA first round, scoring both of the game's goals.
