In the win, Princeton turned in its fifth straight shutout, putting together its longest streak since the start of the 2017 season. Keeper Grace Barbara was in net for four of the five shutouts during the run.
"Today was one of our better overall performances in league play," Princeton coach Sean Driscoll said. "We moved the ball better in all three zones of the field. Our back line did a great job of providing us needed composure with the ball, which translated throughout the rest of the team. While we did leave ourselves a bit more vulnerable to the counterattack, I was so happy to see the intent with which we played, especially in the second half. The build-up to the goal was excellent and Marissa's finish was terrific. In addition, I am really happy with our overall commitment to defending, and Grace made yet another big-time save in a huge moment when the score was still 0-0."
The Tigers had a chance to add to their lead shortly thereafter, but Kamryn Loustau's penalty kick was saved by a diving Laurence Gladau in the 69th minute.
With the regular season concluded, Princeton turns its attention to a potential NCAA Tournament berth. The Tigers stand 19th in the RPI entering the week and will await the NCAA selection show on Monday at 4:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
