Women's Swimming & Diving Opens Big Al Invitational

Princeton, N.J. – After one day of competition at the Big Al Invitation, the Princeton University women's swimming and diving team is in second place with 311 points, trailing University of Utah (345.5 points).
The Tigers dominated in the 500 free, finishing one-two-three. Ellie Marquardt touched first with a time of 4:49.23, followed by Nikki Venema (4:50.40) in second and Emily Appleton (4:53.07) in third.
The 200 IM featured two Tigers finishing in the top three, with Liza Whitmire earning first place and Margaux McDonald taking third.
And in the relays, the team of Alexa Pappas, Vivian Wang, Nikki Venema, and Christina Bradley took first place (3:39.60) in the 400-medley relay, while the team of Nikki Venema, Christina Bradley, Vivian Wang, and Jennifer Secrest finished in second place (1:31.62) in the 200 free relay.
Princeton did not place in the top three in the 3-meter dive.
Next up: The Tigers continue competition at the Big Al Invitational, with prelims starting at 10 AM tomorrow morning.
