Eric Robinson '18 To Play On Team USA At Men's World Championships

Eric Robinson '18 will represent the United States at the 2021 IIHF Men's World Championships in Latvia, earning his first call to play for his country.

Robinson currently plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and is coming off a 2020-21 season which saw him set career highs in goals (8), assists (10), points (18), shots (75), hits (94) and blocked shots (16). He was sixth on the Blue Jackets in goals, eighth in points, ninth in assists and led the team in +/- at +6.

A 2018 ECAC champion at Princeton, Robinson signed with the Blue Jackets as an undrafted free agent and has played in 120 NHL games over parts of the last four seasons. For his career, Robinson has tallied 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points.

Robinson is the ninth Princeton men's hockey player to play in the IIHF Men's World Championships and first since Mike Condon '13 won a bronze medal with Team USA in 2016. Current Tampa Bay Lightning assistant coach – and 2020 Stanley Cup champion – Jeff Halpern '99 represented the United States at five World Championships, bringing home a bronze medal in 2004.

The 2021 IIHF Men's World Championships begin for Robinson and Team USA on May 21 against Finland with opening faceoff set for 9:15 a.m. EST. The Medal Round begins on June 3 with the two medal games set for June 6. All Team USA games will be broadcast live on the NHL Network.
