PHILADELPHIA – The Princeton women's lightweight team collected silver and bronze medals at the Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
The 8+ boat had an impressive showing, placing second in its final, just 1.9 seconds behind Drexel. All of the boats except Georgetown and Princeton were open weights.
"It was a great race by both crews out there," said head coach Paul Rassam. Congratulations to Drexel. This is their home race and the one they really go for. They are friends of the program and we have a great respect for them."
Earlier, that grouping won its heat, more than 10 seconds ahead of everyone else.
The 2X boat of Anella Lefebvre and Kailey Dubinsky placed second in its heat (8:25.17) to advance to its final. They followed that with the bronze medal (8:09.28), trailing only the women's open crew squad and Oklahoma City. They were fifth early in the race, but rebounded to finish with the medal.
