Five From Women’s Track & Field to Compete at Olympic Trials

PRINCETON, N.J. – Five current, future and former members of the Princeton University women's track & field team will compete for the opportunity to represent their respective national teams at the Tokyo Olympics.
Imani Oliver '14 (U.S.A), Obiageri Amaechi '21 (Nigeria), Isabella Hilditch (Great Britain), India Weir (Great Britain) and Lily Parris (Great Britain) will be vying for the chance to compete in Tokyo.
Additionally, Julia Ratcliffe '17 will be representing New Zealand in the hammer throw and Lizzie Bird '17 has achieved the Olympic qualifying standard time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and is likely to be named to the British team following the trials.
Imani Oliver '14, who earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the event in 2013, will compete in the triple jump at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon at Hayward Field. The qualifying round of the triple jump takes place at 9:15 p.m. ET on Friday, June. Should Oliver advance to the final, she will then compete at 8:55 p.m. on Sunday, June 20. Two-time All-American Obiageri Amaechi '21 is competing at the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) National Olympic Trials & Invitational Relays where will she compete for a spot on the Nigerian team. The meet takes place from Thursday, June 17, until Sunday, June 20 and Amaechi will compete in the discus on Saturday, June 19. Click HERE to follow the event live.
Isabella Hilditch and incoming freshman Lily Parris will compete in the 100-meter hurdles at the Muller British Athletics Championships on Sunday, June 27, inside the Manchester Regional Arena. India Weir also made the accepted entry list in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, which takes place on Saturday, June 26. Click HERE to follow the event live.
