Women’s Volleyball to Open Season at Towson Tournament

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's volleyball team will open its season at the Towson University Tournament inside SECU Arena on Friday, September 3, and Saturday, September 4.
The Tigers will take on Loyola University Maryland on Friday, September 3 at 1:30 p.m. Princeton will follow with a pair of matches on Saturday, September 4; it will first take on Morgan State University at 10 a.m. followed by Towson at 4 p.m.
The Tigers return the 2019 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-Ivy League selection junior Cameron Dames, along with seniors Julia Schner and Grace Klepetka, juniors Olivia Schewe, Elena Montgomery, Melina Mahood, Avery Luoma and Lindsey Kelly. Eight Tigers will be appearing in their first matches at the college level including sophomores Kathleen Bishop, Julia Cabri, Krystal Raymundo and Maya Satchell along with freshmen Gracie Wood, Shelby Fulton, Nicole Dankinova and Mariah Haislip.
The Tigers will be led by three-time Ivy League Head Coach of the Year Sabrina King, who enters her 11th year as head coach of the Tigers. She will be pursuing her fifth Ivy League title as a head coach, and will be joined on the sidelines by assistant coaches Tim Favreau and Dominique Mason.
Loyola

Loyola is currently 3-0 on the season. While it fell 0-3 to the University of West Virginia on Friday, August 27, it bounced back later in the day to defeat Hampton University, 3-0. The Greyhounds also earned a 3-0 victory over Old Dominion University on Saturday, August 28.
Morgan State

Morgan State, who will take on Stony Brook University prior to its matchup with the Tigers, is 0-4 on the season as it fell to Cleveland State University, Towson and Binghampton University at the Baltimore Invite on Friday, August 27 and Saturday, August 28.

Towson, who is coming off two-straight NCAA Tournament appearances, has a 4-0 record so far in 2021, defeating Morgan State, Cleveland State and Binghampton at the Baltimore Invite. The Tigers also defeated the U.S. Naval Academy on Sunday, August 29, 3-2.
