No. 12 Men's Water Polo Splits During Day Two of the Princeton Invite

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 12 Princeton Tigers earned a split during day two of the Princeton Invitational.
No.3 Stanford 16, No. 12 Princeton 5
The Cardinal showed why they were the No. 3 team in the country as it posted an impressive victory over Princeton. The Cardinal registered seven of the first eight goals of the game and took an 8-3 lead into halftime.
Stanford put the game away with five goals in the third stanza while Princeton was held scoreless. Vladan Mitrovic scored twice to pace the offense for the Tigers.

The Tigers used an 8-0 run in the second half to separate themselves and take down Johns Hopkins.
No team led by more than a goal in the first half that featured six ties. Hopkins tied the game at 7-all with three seconds remaining in the second quarter. The two squads exchanged goals to start the second half setting the score at 9-all with 3:42 left in the third stanza. That was the beginning of the Tigers' eight-tally outburst that lasted almost eight minutes. Princeton's advantage ballooned to 17-9 before settling with a 20-12 decision.
Princeton finishes the weekend with two more contests tomorrow vs. No. 16 Bucknell (9:15 a.m.) and Fordham (3:30 p.m.).
