Seven-Point Week Scores MacNab Ivy Weekly Player, Rookie Honor Sweep
September 13, 2021 | Women's Soccer
Heather MacNab had a point on every goal that Princeton needed to complete its weekend sweep of No. 9 Rutgers and Rhode Island, and for that, MacNab has been recognized as the Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Week.
MacNab was in on all four goals in Princeton's 4-3 win at No. 9 Rutgers on Thursday, taking two successful penalty kicks and assisting on the other two goals. Sunday against Rhode Island, MacNab assisted on Princeton's first goal in a 2-0 win.
MacNab was also named to TopDrawerSoccer's national Team of the Week.Â
It's the second consecutive week that a Princeton player has won the Player of the Week honor, with senior Tatum Gee earning it last week.
The seven-point week boosted MacNab's season point total to a team-best 10 for the season. The total is already tied for the most points in a season for a Princeton freshman since Mimi Asom '19 had 28 in 2015. Current junior Grace Sherman had 10 points as a rookie in 2019.
Now 5-0-1, the Tigers will host a team in the current top-25, No. 25 Hofstra, on Thursday at 7 p.m. on Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium.Â
