Princeton opens a four-match homestand on Wednesday night, welcoming Fairfield to Sherrerd Field for the first-ever meeting between the two teams. Kickoff with the Stags is set for 7 p.m.
The Tigers come into the match on the heels of a 2-0 win at Colgate on Sunday. Princeton broke through in the second half, connecting twice to break a scoreless tie and secure its first win of the 2021 season. Moulay Hamza Kanzi Belghiti and Francis Akomeah-Sirleaf had the goals -- each picking up his first career goal in the process. Jack Roberts was not especially busy in goal, but made the one save he was called upon to handle for his fourth career shutout.
Princeton's win on Sunday was more indicative of how they've carried play this season. The Tigers are outshooting teams, 45-21, and have just as many shots on goal (21) as opponents do total shots. Of the three goals conceded by the Tigers to open the season, one came via an own goal following a sliding deflection of a cross into the box and a second was scored on a penalty kick.
Ryan Clare, Daniel Diaz-Bonilla, and Kevin O'Toole are all tied for the team lead in shots on goal with three apiece.
