No. 9 Men's Water Polo Extends Win Streak To Eight With Wins over No. 20 Navy and Wagner

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 9 Princeton Tigers expanded its winning streak to eight with two more victories over the No. 20 U.S. Navy Midshipmen and the Wagner Seahawks at DeNunzio Pool on Saturday afternoon.
No. 9 Princeton 11, No. 20 U.S. Navy 8
The Midshipmen held the Tigers off the scoreboard for the first 11:03 of game action, racing out to a four-goal cushion. Princeton climbed back within two before the intermission and rallied with the first five tallies of the second half to flip the game into a 7-4 advantage. Princeton held off every Navy push, scoring a goal each time the road squad cut the deficit to two. Head coach Dustin Litvak's unit used a balanced scoring attack in the contest with seven different players registering a goal. Billy Motherway finished with 16 stops in goal for the Tigers in the win.

Princeton's offense hardly slowed down, corralling nine goals in the first 16 minutes, securing a 9-3 halftime advantage. The Tigers expanded their lead to double-digits, 13-3, and were never threatened the rest of the way. Eight different players scored a goal for the Tigers.
Princeton gets Northeast Water Polo Conference action underway next week with Harvard and Brown on Saturday (10 a.m., 5 p.m.) and MIT on Sunday (11 a.m.).
