Men's Tennis Wraps Up Play At Orange & Blue Classic

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Princeton University men's tennis team wrapped up play on the third and final day of the Orange & Blue Classic Sunday, at the Virginia Tennis Complex at the Boar's Head Tennis Club.

"It was another productive weekend for us against strong competition," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "Our young guys continue to get valuable opportunities and our older guys are having the chance to lead and get battled tested. Today we continued to play good doubles as we did on the weekend. We held a lead at No 3 doubles throughout the match and had a match point but unfortunately didn't get the win. However, we were pleased with what we saw and the execution will come. Filippos and Damian had strong performances today and we'll have some positive takeaways from all matches. For most of the guys they get a break from competition to rehab some nagging injuries and get back to training - while four of the upperclassmen will be competing in Tulsa next week."

In doubles, senior Bill Duo and junior Thomas Bosancic earned an 8-5 victory over Columbia's Henry Ruger and Theo Winger.

Princeton also earned a pair of impressive wins in singles; senior Damian Rodriguez took down Max Westphal of Columbia 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, and freshman Filippos Astreinidis overcame the Lions' Ishaan Ravichander, 6-4, 7-5.
