ITA Regionals Begin With Women At Home, Men At Penn

The second chance to qualify for the NCAA men's and women's tennis individual singles and doubles tournaments begin Thursday morning with the ITA Regionals. The Princeton women will host the Northeast Regional at the Meadows complex, while the men will play at their Northeast Regional at Penn.

The tournaments begin with the qualifying rounds Thursday morning, with the singles round of 64 to begin Thursday afternoon. The tournaments run through Tuesday, with the two singles finalists and the doubles champ to earn bids to the NCAA event next month in Athens, Ga.

Anna Nguyen and Maren Urata will play in the qualifying stages at 10 am. Princeton will have Alice Ferlito, Bella Chhiv, Berklie Simmerling, Anna Maria Fedatova, Tsehay Driscoll, Lilian Liu, Maddie Jessup and Pearlie Zhang all play in the main draw, with their first matches at 2. Ferlito enters as the No. 2 seed in the bracket, with Jessup at No. 3.

For the men, Severance Sawyer and Micah Beegun play at 9 am in the qualifying round. Princeton will have the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in the tournament, with Simeon Stankovic and Landon Ardila, who comes in after having won the Battle In The Bay singles tournament two weeks ago in San Francisco. Princeton will also have Aleksandar Mitric, Milan Markovits and Alex Luo in the singles bracket.
