Fresh off a memorable 1-0 win over Penn State on Saturday, Princeton concludes a four-game homestand on September 28 with a match against St. John's. Kickoff with the Red Storm is set for 8 p.m. as the men conclude a doubleheader with the women's side who host Bucknell at 5 p.m.
The Tigers have won three of their last four matches, each win coming via a shutout. The run of shutout wins to start a season marks the first time Princeton's first three wins of a season have come via clean sheet since the 2001 season. Freshman Harry Roberts was the goal scorer against the Nittany Lions, getting his chest on a cross from Francis Akomeah-Sirleaf in the 44th minute and knocking it down at the far left post. Harry's older brother, Jack, and the Princeton defensive group made that markers stand tall in a one-save shutout.
Scouting St. John's
St. John's enters the match on a five-game winning streak. The Red storm have outscored opponents, 8-2 over that stretch, putting together four clean sheets. Overall, five of the team's six wins have come via shutout and the Red Storm have outscored opponents, 12-5, this season.
Brendan Knapp has the team lead with 10 points, bolstered by a 1g, 2a game against Marist.
