Princeton N.J - The Princeton women's cross-country team is set to send two squads of runners to a pair of meets on Friday. One group will be heading to Madison, Wisconsin for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational and the other to the Bronx, New York for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship. The women heading to Madison will be racing on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course and the women in the Bronx will run in Van Cortlandt Park.
Friday will be a great opportunity for the team to be within a loaded field of talent, and to gain a preview of the NCAA Championships that will take place later in November.
In Madison, the Tigers will be up against 23 programs ranked inside the Top-30, including No. 1 N.C. State, No. 2 New Mexico, No. 4 Northern Arizona, No. 5 BYU, No. 8 Stanford, and No. 9 Washington. Only Harvard joins the Tigers in representing the Ivy League.
Princeton will also be among some familiar opponents from last month's Paul Short Run, including No. 11 North Carolina, No. 13 Georgetown, No. 16 Providence, No. 19 Utah Valley, and No. 23 Utah State. Indiana, who finished one place ahead of Princeton in eighth at the Paul Short Run, will also be competing on Friday.
"We are excited to compete against the best in the country in preparation for the upcoming championship season, said head coach Brad Hunt. "We last raced in Madison at the 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championships and we recognize this is a tremendous opportunity to gauge our season improvement on the national stage coming out of mid-terms and the halfway point of the season."

ECAC Championship
The Tigers also hope to make strides in the Bronx on Friday. Historically, the ECAC Championship has been held the same weekend as the NCAA Cross Country Championships. In hopes of attracting more teams, the meet was moved to mid-October in 2022. This change was proven effective, resulting in 35 women's teams set to race in in Van Cortlandt Park. Princeton will be joined by Yale, Cornell, Harvard, and Columbia in representing the Ivy League on Friday.
Head coach, Brad Hunt, commented on this year's ECAC Championship, "We are scheduled to line up a very competitive squad made up of our talented middle-distance crew as well as individuals that will be racing in our Top-12 at the upcoming Ivy League Championships. I fully expect we will be very competitive as a team and individually at the 2022 ECAC Championships. This is an exciting weekend for our team as we divide and conquer at two high powered meets on the same weekend."
