Women's Tennis Has Undefeated First Day at Princeton Fall Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's tennis team got off to an impressive start Friday at the Princeton Fall Invitational, going undefeated in both doubles and singles.

The team of Maia Sung and Grace Joyce overcame Saki Oyama and her partner from LIU, 8-6, while Eva Elbaz and Michelle Sorokko overcame LIU's Eliinor Storkaas and Bianca Compuesto, 8-3.

In singles, Zoe Howard took down Olivia Wright, 6-3, 6-0, and Leena Bennetto earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Maria Constantinou. Sung upended Aleksandra Karamyshev, 6-2, 6-1, while Joyce dispatches Nansu Toskova, 6-3, 6-1. Sorokko prevailed 4-6, 7-6, 1-0 (5) over Isabel Petri-Bere, and Jayme Leschly was victorious, 6-4, 6-3, over Denise Lai. All of the Tigers' opponents in singles were from UCONN.
