'22-23 Season Opens for Women's Swimming & Diving Against Brown & Dartmouth

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's swimming & diving team open the 2022-23 season on Saturday, November 5, at 12:00 p.m. inside DeNunzio Pool with a tri-meet against Brown and Dartmouth.
Reclaiming the Ivy Title
Ivy League Champions in 2020, the Tiger are looking to re-claim the Ivy title in 2022. Ellie Marquardt, the 2020 Ivy League Championships High Point Swimmer of the Meet, is back for Princeton, along with six other All-Ivy League honorees from last season; Nikki Venema, Alexa Pappas, Christina Bradley, Amelia Liu, Isabella Korbly and Margaux McDonald. Maddie Seltzer also made a run to the 2022 NCAA Zone Diving Championships and is back for Princeton, along with Ela Noble, a junior Commonwealth Games representative from Australia, who took a gap year in 2021-22.
The Class of 2026
The Tigers welcome Caroline Lewitt, Meg Wheeler, Sabrina Johnston, Eliza Brown, Megan Reich, Margaret Hayes, Heidi Smithwick, and Charlotte Martinkus for the Class of 2026 to a squad that will strive to reclaim the Ivy League Championship in 2022-23.
Welcome, Ted Everett
Joining the Tigers as Head Diving Coach in June 2022, Everett most recently spent three seasons at the University of Wyoming, where he won the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Diving Coach of the Year award in 2022 and the Mountain West Conference (MWC) Diving Coach of the Year Award in 2021.
Along with winning WAC Coach of the Year, Everett is coming off a 2021-22 season at Wyoming where he helped Melissa Mirafuentes capture All-America honors on 3-meter and platform, get named MWC Championships Diver of the Meet, win the MWC title on platform, and sent six divers to the NCAA Zone E Championships on all three boards. Everett also had divers named Diver of the Week on six occasions in 2021-22.
At Wyoming, Everett guided divers to All-America honors five times, NCAA Championship qualification four times, NCAA Zone Championship qualification 13 times, Academic All-America honors three times, Diver of the Week honors 13 times, Conference Championship Diver of the Meet honors three times, Conference Event Championships three times, had nine conference championship finalists, and helped divers make it onto the all-time top-10 list 12 times.
Summer Competition
Three Tigers competed on the national stage over the summer, with Ellie Marquardt, Isabella Korbly and Eliza swimming at the Philipps 66 National Championships in Irvine, California, from Tuesday, July 26, until Saturday, July 30.

The Opponents
In 2021-22, Brown finished fifth in the Ivy League Championships and had a 3-4 record in dual meets. The Bears return Jenna Reznicek, who competed at the 2022 NCAA Championships in the 100 backstroke as the first Brown Swimmer of make the NCAA Championships since 2004. Prior to Saturday's meet, the Bears open their season on Friday, November 4, in New Haven, Connecticut, against Yale.
The Big Green's 2022-23 season opens with the tri-meet, and is coming off a 2021-22 season where it finished 2-7 overall, and a 0-6 in Ivy League meets. Dartmouth finished seventh at the 2022 Ivy league Championships.
