Notes To Know
- Over the weekend, Princeton picked up three points to start the Ivy League portion of the season with a 1-0 win at Dartmouth. The Tigers took advantage of an early red card issued to Dartmouth's starting goalkeeper and dominated the pace of play rhe rest of the way. Princeton had a 14-1 edge in shots, and 8-0 advantage in shots on goal, and a 14-5 edge in corner kicks. The game's lone goal was a header from Walker Gillespie in the 56th minute off a corner.
- With the win, Princeton has won its last eight Ivy League matches dating back to the start of the 2021 Ancient Eight season. The Tigers are outscoring ivy opponents, 17-5 over their last eight ivy games with four shutouts. Princeton's defense has been stifling of late in Ivy play, entering the Yale match with a run of 275:24 of game play without conceding a goal dating back to the end of the Cornell match last October.
- Last year against Yale, Mateo Godoy struck in the 94th minute to secure a 1-0 win for the Tigers in overtime -- a victory which was not only the 200th win of Jim Barlow's career, it finished off a 7-0-0 Ivy season for the program and an outright Ivy League championship.
