PRINCETON CELEBRATES 100TH YEAR OF HOBEY BAKER RINK
The nation's oldest on-campus hockey venue is in its 100th season of operation during the 2022-23 season. The first game at Hobey Baker Rink was played on January 8, 1923 and since then the Tigers have played at one of the most venerable barns in all of college hockey. Princeton will celebrate #Hobey100 all year long, including a special "Hobey 100 Weekend" January 6-7.

PEARSON NAMED ECAC GOALIE OF THE WEEK AFTER TWO SHUTOUT WINS
Ethan Pearson made 25 saves for his first career shutout -- and first career win -- in a 3-0 victory at Yale. For good measure, Pearson also picked up his first career point with an assist on Princeton's first goal of the game. He then followed up with a 21-save shutout at Brown on Saturday. His work earned ECAC Goalie of the Week and Everything College Hockey Goalie of the Week.

GATHERING GORMANS
In addition to captain Liam Gorman, the Tigers also will line up his younger brother, Brendan, this season. The brothers join their father, Sean, as Princeton Hockey players. Sean is a 1991 Princeton grad who was drafted by the Boston Bruins out of college. Both Liam and Brendan played high school hockey at St. Sebastian's before joining the Tigers as true freshmen. Last year with St. Sebs, Brendan tallied 49 points (11g, 38a) in 25 games while earning ISL MVP honors.

LITTLE BRO, BIG GOALS
Brendan Gorman has a team-high three goals through four games to open his Princeton career, scoring the Tigers' first goal of the season at Harvard and connecting in back-to-back games against Colgate and Yale.

POWERING UP
Princeton is 5-for-21 on the power play this season, ranking third in the ECAC and No. 21 in the country in power-play percentage (23%). Jack Cronin has three power-play goals, with another coming from Pito Walton -- who has a pair of power-play helpers as well. Brendan Gorman also has a PPG. The Tigers have scored one PPG in all five games this season and in six games overall dating back to the final game of the 2022 Playoffs at Union.

TIGERS EDGED IN OT BY COLGATE
Princeton held three different one-goal leads over Colgate last Saturday, but were unable to hold off the Raiders in a 4-3 overtime loss at Hobey Baker Rink. Liam and Brendan Gorman each scored, while Jack Cronin added his second PPG of the year. Colgate tied the game with 7:14 remaining in regulation before netting the GWG 0:53 into OT.

PEARSON MAKES 34 SAVES IN 3-1 LOSS TO CORNELL
Ethan Pearson was one shy of his career high in saves, making 34 in a 3-1 loss to Cornell on November 4. He had 17 stops in the first period, and Cornell only could get past him for a pair of goals 0:30 apart in the second period before adding an empty-netter late. Pito Walton had the goal for Princeton, wristing home a power-play goal in the third period.

NATION'S TOP TENDY
Ethan Pearson enters the weekend ranked No. 1 in the country in GAA (0.67) and save percentage (.976). His two shutouts are No 4 in the country.

TIGERS BATTLE #13 HARVARD IN SEASON OPENER
Princeton was the last team to begin play during the 2022-23 Division I season with its 8:00 start last weekend at Harvard. The Tigers held a 2-1 lead on the Crimson in the third period, but ran out of steam in a 4-2 defeat. Brendan Gorman (first career goal) and Jack Cronin (PPG) had the goals for the Tigers.

REELING IN RANKED TEAMS
The Tigers have 17 wins over ranked opponents during Ron Fogarty's tenure, including a 5-4 win at No. 8 Cornell last season. Princeton has at least one win over a ranked team in each of its last six seasons (2015-16 through 2019-20; 2021-22).

JACK ATTACK
Jack Cronin has struck for three PPGs this season, already surpassing his total goal output from 2021-22 just five games into this season.

THE MURPH
Ian Murphy is the top returning scorer from the 2021-21 season, where he posted 19 points on nine goals and 10 assists as a sophomore during his first collegiate season before skating with the Vancouver Canucks during the summer as part of NHL Development Camp. His nine goals are the most among Tigers back in the lineup for 2022-23, and his 10 helpers are tied for most among players returning. After missing the first game, he returned last weekend and had assists in back-to-back games against Colgate and Yale.

ABOUT ADAM
Adam Robbins had a breakout 2021-22 season, posting 13 points (5g, 8a) over 31 games played – including a blistering start where he had points in four consecutive games (1g, 4a) to open the season. His totals blew by his 2019-20 total of 2 points (0g, 2a) over 18 games. During the 2020-21 year, Robbins won a Clark Cup with the Chicago Steel. So far this season, Robbins has four assists -- including three power-play helpers.

PITO POCKETS POINTS
Defenseman Pito Walton turned a 6-point 2019-20 season into an 11-point campaign last year. He had career highs in goals (4) and assists (7), highlighted by a three-assist night at Yale on 11/6/21. He enters the weekend with three points (1g, 2a).

SPENCER ON FIRE
Spencer Kersten set career highs last season in goals (6), assists (10) and points (16) while playing in all 31 games. He was 52% on faceoffs last season, winning 211-of-406. This year, he is 62-for-94 (66%) on draws but is looking for his first point.

SETTING SEITZ
Nick Seitz also had a breakout 2021-22 season, setting career highs in goals (3), assists (6) and points (9). He spent this summer teaching English in Ecuador and is coming off his first goals of the season at Yale.

DE LA SOUL
Noah de la Durantaye had 10 points (3g, 7a) last season during his debut campaign. He had a pair of two-assist games (vs. St. Lawrence and RIT) and had points in both playoff games to end last season. He spent the summer with the Vegas Golden Knights participating in NHL Development Camp.

LEANIN' ON LIAM
The Tigers will be looking for key contributions from senior Liam Gorman. Originally a Pittsburgh Penguins draft pick, Chicago traded for his rights this past summer. He posted a two-point night (1g, 1a) against Colgate for his first-career multi-point game and had goals in back-to-back games against Colgate and Yale.
