Donovan & Sears Named To Tewaaraton Watch List

A pair of Princeton women's lacrosse players are among the 50 named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List ahead of the 2022 season.

Attacker Kyla Sears and defender Marge Donovan were both put on the radar for national player of the year, giving Princeton two of the three Ivy Leaguers named to the Watch List.

For Kyla Sears, this marks the fourth time she's been named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. After earning a mid-season selection in 2018, she was a preseason honoree previously in 2019 and 2020. A two-time All-American, Sears enters the 2022 season ranked No. 6 all-time at Princeton in points (207) and assists (68). Heading into the season, she has been named a second-team preseason All-American by IL Women and US Lacrosse Magazine.

Marge Donovan was an honorable mention All-American in 2019, and was named preseason All-American ahead of this season by IL Women and US Lacrosse Magazine. She has 102 career draw controls, 94 career ground balls and 51 career caused turnovers entering 2022.

Princeton, a unanimous No. 1 in the Ivy League Preseason Media Poll, enters 2022 ranked No. 13 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Poll and No. 15 in the IL Women/IWLCA Poll.

The Tigers open 2022 on February 20 at No. 11 Virginia. The home opener for the Tigers is February 26 against No. 22 Temple at Class of 1952 Stadium.
