Men's Ice Hockey Denied At No. 19 Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y. – No. 19 Clarkson jumped out to a lead on home ice, and Princeton could not recover in a 7-1 loss at Cheel Arena.
Ian Murphy scored a power-play goal for the Tigers, fighting for a rebound late in the second period and sliding a diving backhand through Jacob Mucitelli's five-hole with assists to Luke Keenan and Mark Paolini.
The Golden Knights scored twice in the first period to build a 2-0 lead. Zach Teskos opened the scoring 4:49 in, capitalizing on a Princeton turnover with a one-timer from the slot.
Clarkson added a power-play goal with 4:27 left in the period via a Noah Beck wrist shot from the point.
In the second period, Clarkson added on four goals on their way to a 6-1 lead after two. Anthony Romano scored 2:43 into the period and then added a PPG with 7:13 left in the period to give Clarkson a 4-0 lead. Just 34 seconds later, Luke Santerno scored before Ayrton Martino made it 6-0 with 2:56 left in the frame.
In the third, Clarkson tacked on a 4-on-4 goal from Tommy Pasanen.
The Tigers continue their North Country road trip with a game at St. Lawrence on Saturday night. Puck drop at Appleton Arena is set for 7 p.m.
